Q+A with Melony
Q: What are your favorite weekend trip destinations?
A: Las Vegas, San Diego and Los Angeles
Q: Share with us your best tips and tricks for packing light.
A:
1. Plan versatile pieces that can layer and are interchangeable. The outer layers can be worn together and again on their own to account for two days’ looks.
2. Plan looks that comprise easy-to-roll & pack fabrics such as bamboo, tencel, silk and cottons. These take up less space in the carryon than bulkier fabrics. Dresses are easy packing options as well because one piece makes one full look.
3. Sticking to a simple color palette of 2-3 colors or monochromatic looks not only enables interchangeability but requires just 1-3 shoes changes as well. Shoes take up the majority of baggage space, so wearing one pair to travel and packing just another one to two pairs leaves ample room in your bag.

4. Another easy trick to pack light is to take easy-to-pack accessories. This means taking jewelry and scarves as well as hats such as baseball caps, beanies or hats that flatten and stack. These accessories, coupled with a shoe change, can completely change the look from day to evening or vice versa.
Q: What are the key elements of a versatile weekend trip wardrobe?
A. Color and fabric selection, accessories and shoes. Hairstyle may even play a significant role!
Q: What is your favorite wardrobe piece from the LPC Collection?
A: That is a tough one but The Brandee Skirt may be my favorite piece right now. I would choose this piece because it is so versatile and pairs well with multiple tops. It is lightweight enough to be worn by day in warm weather with sandals or sneakers and paired with The Tina Rib Knit Tank or the new Lindsey Tees. By night, pair it with The Brandee Vest and your favorite evening shoe, and you’re ready for date night or a girls’ night on the town!
Q: What outfit combinations do you consider for a weekend getaway?
A: I do love linen but mixed with bamboo for a softer, more wrinkle resistant feel. Cotton is always a go-to fabric but mixed with some stretch can help keep the style’s shape intact for multiple wears on-the-go. That is why I love to take LPC’s denim pieces, bamboo cotton Lindsey Tees, as well as our Sero Rayon Jessi Dresses and tanks.
Q: Highlight your top must-have accessory/essentials.
A: Accessories are minimal yet impactful. A statement necklace, leather belt, and sunglasses can elevate multiple outfits without taking up much space. I ALWAYS pack a silk scarf (or two), a baseball cap and 2-3 separate jewelry looks.
Q: How do you extend the wearability of my outfits throughout the weekend?
A: When I know I need to extend the wearability of my outfits, I tend to take denim that can be worn multiple times in multiple ways. I may also organize looks to be worn layered one day but on their own another. Loose fitting pieces are easy to extend wearability as well as they tend to allow breathability and thus not retain body odor. They can typically be worn multiple times.
